We Help Children in Sri Lanka
Our goal is to provide mobility to as many children as possible in Sri Lanka. In countries like Sri Lanka, access to essential medical care—especially prosthetics and rehabilitation services—can be extremely limited. Through Meththa America, children are able to receive life-changing prosthetic care through the generosity of sponsors and supporters around the world.
Meththa America works in close partnership with the Meththa Foundation (UK) to raise funds in the United States, Australia, and beyond, helping ensure children receive the medical support they need to thrive.

Our Mission
Meththa Ameriica, our misson is an international nonprofit focused on global health, Meththa America supports children in Sri Lanka by helping fund prosthetics, rehabilitation services, and mobility equipment. Our work is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to live an active and fulfilling life.
Our Volunteers
Sandali Rockwell
Sandali Rockwell began volunteering with the Meththa Foundation while still in high school. She started teaching English via Zoom to Shithila, a bright young student who passed Sri Lanka’s highly competitive Grade 5 National Scholarship Examination. Through these lessons, Sandali also introduced him to aspects of American culture.
Sandali organized multiple school supply drives and personally delivered supplies to Shithila and other Meththa children. A trained Bharatanatyam dancer, she performed at several fundraising events. Now a freshman at Georgia Tech majoring in Computational Media, Sandali hopes to pursue a career in video game development. She is also studying Sinhala to better communicate with the Meththa children in their native language.
Sammy Goins
Sammy Goins is a freshman at Hampden–Sydney College who volunteers as a chess instructor for Shithila, a Meththa Foundation patient. Since March 2025, Sammy has helped Shithila significantly improve his chess skills.
Sammy is 15 years old and was president of his high school chess club. He was also recognized as the STAR Student for both his high school and county. His passion for chess and service motivated him to use his skills to help others.
Seha Bulathsinhala
Seha Bulathsinhala is a high school honors student with a strong interest in medicine, global health, and expanding access to education. She is actively involved in hospital volunteering and research-focused academic programs.
As part of her international outreach work, Seha currently teaches English to a student in Sri Lanka, helping build confidence and communication skills through one-on-one instruction. She is deeply committed to service-based leadership and hopes to contribute meaningfully to global communities through medicine and advocacy.

WORK WE HAVE DONE
A Goal Worth Working For
Give Mobility to the Children of Sri Lanka
Below are some of the children we have helped so far through the generosity of sponsors and supporters.

Meththa America supports the provision of modern rehabilitation services for disabled children in Sri Lanka. These services include customized artificial limbs, mobility devices, and posture-support equipment fabricated by the Meththa Foundation using innovative, cost-effective technologies.
Through global sponsorships, we have helped several children regain mobility and independence over the past years. Our inspiration and partner, the Meththa Foundation, has been serving communities in Sri Lanka since 1994. Donations directly fund medical care and rehabilitation for children in need.
A Success Story

M. M. Shithila Thewjan Damyuru
Shithila is an 8th-grade student who has received support through the Meththa Foundation since early childhood. Sandali Rockwell taught him English for approximately two and a half years, and he now continues his studies with Seha Bulathsinhala.
Shithila enjoys playing chess and has won multiple competitions within his school district. Under the guidance of Meththa volunteer Sammy Goins, his chess skills have improved significantly. In 2023, he passed Sri Lanka’s highly competitive Grade 5 National Scholarship Examination. His favorite subject is mathematics, and he is also an avid artist and video creator.
