Aneirin Rockwell, currently a freshman at the University of South Alabama and a former senior at Prattville High School (PHS), embarked on a meaningful journey during the COVID pandemic by volunteering for the UK-based Meththa Foundation, led by Dr. Bandara Panagamuwa.
Aneirin’s involvement with this charity catalyzed him to establish Meththa America in 2021, a nonprofit charity affiliated with the Meththa Foundation dedicated to raising funds for prosthetics clinics in Sri Lanka.
Aneirin’s passion for healthcare led him to pursue valuable medical experiences. He was engaged in a Health Science Internship program at Autauga County Technology Center (ACTC) and dedicated more than 100 hours to shadowing specialists across departments at Prattville Baptist Hospital as a hospital volunteer. In the summer of 2023, he furthered his knowledge by working part-time as a student guest coordinator at the hospital.
Beyond his charitable work, Aneirin serves as President of the PHS Speech and Debate Club and the ACTC chapter of HOSA. He is the Vice President of the Beta Club and actively participates in NHS, TSA, and other academic organizations. He is also a letterman on the cross country and track & field teams, having served as captain of the former team in the 2023 season.
Aneirin has solidified his determination to pursue a career as a physician. His vision extends beyond high school, as he plans to continue his involvement in Meththa America while pursing pre-med studies in college.
Aneirin Rockwell is a driven, well-rounded student committed to service and making a positive impact through medicine. His journey is marked by a dedication to both healthcare and charitable initiatives, showcasing his passion for improving the lives of others.
